A crazy week...

Spring break was last week and oh my word it was so needed. As I mentioned in a previous post we went to Denver at the beginning of the weekand had a blast doing the kid stuff. It was good....toward the end of the week not so much :)
Justin's dad and Linda came down on Saturday to spend the weekend for Easter. We were so glad that they did this and the kids enjoyed seeing them. Then on Saturday night everything could have changed forever...Justin was shot at while at work. 3am getting ready to come home and 3 shots were fired at him. Luckily the good Lord was watching over him and the shooter completely MISSED him. Oh I do not know what I would have done had he actually hit Justin, I don't think I want my mind to go there. The shooter was drunk and luckily he was. I'm hopeful that he will spend some time in jail even if some people think it was just a "mistake." I am not too sure how you can "accidently" aim a gun in the direction of a person knowing someone is there. Anyways read this article for more information:

Deputy shot at: One arrested for April 4 incident

A Converse County sheriff’s deputy was sitting in his patrol vehicle on Irvine Road in the early morning of April 4 when two or three rounds were fired in the direction of his car.

Officers arrested Chad Hopkins, 27, in connection to the incident. He has been charged with aggravated assault, a felony, and if convicted could face 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Hopkins is also being charged with destruction of property under $1,000, a misdemeanor, for allegedly shooting holes through a sign earlier that same day.

Charges were not filed until early Tuesday morning, and Hopkins was seen for an initial appearance in circuit court Tuesday afternoon. Bond was set at $25,000.

Hopkins was the passenger in a vehicle that had been driving down Irvine Road to find a place where he could shoot a 9mm Luger, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by Converse County Investigator Eric Koss in Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.

The driver of the vehicle told Koss that Hopkins got out of the vehicle at the motocross track turnoff on Irvine Road and “emptied the clip of the weapon” into the motocross sign.

After leaving the motocross track, the driver told Koss they were driving north on Irvine when he saw a sheriff’s vehicle parked about 50 feet off the road. The driver said he told Hopkins to put the gun down because there was a sheriff’s deputy, the affidavit said.

The driver told Koss that Hopkins then fired two or three rounds from the 9 mm Luger in the direction of the sheriff deputy’s vehicle, court records said.

A 9mm Luger casing was found in the ditch almost directly in front of where the deputy vehicle was parked, the affidavit said.

On Sunday, even after almost no sleep from Justin and limited sleep from me we headed to moms for Easter. The kids oblivious to everything that happend (luckily) enjoyed finding eggs and searching for their baskets. Later that day Cohl started to get a rash on his groin area. Having just spent a week with our friends who's little boy had what they thought was the chicken pox which then turned into pnemonia and MRSA we were a little concerned. We got him to the Dr on Monday and found it was not chicken pox but was a staph infection which we are not sure it was MRSA or not since the blisters had not popped yet, but they treated him for MRSA anyways with a strong antibiotic which is the only one to treat MRSA. I really felt frustrated with the few days prior and was not ready to go back to work.
Tuesday came regardless of how I felt and it was good to be back at school with my kids who I had missed and boy had they missed me. That made it much better. We had a good week but I am glad its the weekend and ready to start a fresh new week. Hopefully it will be less dramatic!
So that was our last week. Although both situation could have been a million times worse, we are thankful they didn't and thanking God for watching over them both. God is good even if he did try to give me a nervous breakdown this week :)
Much love to all! <3
