Easter Egg Hunt

Last year for Jyllian's first Easter we were in Minnesota and we did go to an Easter Egg hunt but it was mainly the adults getting the eggs for the little ones. This year Jyllian was able to get the eggs all on her own. Of course we had to still help her as there were prizes to be won :) Jyllian loved the hunt. It was really cold out this year, so we had to have the egg hunt indoors. As a result it was not difficult to "find" the eggs as there was no grass or bushes for them to be hidden in. Instead it was dirt! Children 0-3 went first and when the first child heard a pop of the balloon, s/he thought it was the gun so off they ran and every other 0-3 year old ran too. Needless to say we were too early and they tried hard to get us to go back but there was no stopping them. Within minutes thousands of eggs were in the little kids hands. We did get two eggs with prizes. One of the them we gave to our friends who didn't get a prize. Fun was had by all!

A nice profile of my face :) but you can see all of the eggs scattered through the arena.

And we're off!

Happy Easter!

Jyllian went and saw the Easter Bunny today. I didn't think she would like him, but was surprised when she loved him!

Our Little Shopper!

Okay so Jyllian is starting out a little early! She already loves to shop. She says "store" and if you're going shopping and ask her if she wants to go, she will beat you to the door to get to the car. So it shouldn't really surprise me that she also loved to push around the shopping cart at the Sportsmans Warehouse this weekend. We of course thought it was just the cutest thing ever and had to take a picture. You can't read the little sign on the cart because I cut it off in the pictures but it says "Customer In Training."

Congratulations Justin!

Justin graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy on Thursday March 29th. We are sooo glad that he is finally finished and our schedules can go back to normal. Not only did we have graduation events on Thursday but we also got hit with a huge spring snowstorm. The storm dumped a little over 14 inches of snow on us. All roads in and out of Douglas were closed causing a lot of people to not be able to make it to the graduation including the key note speakers. So needless to say it was short and to the point. It was sad that not a lot of family of the deputies were able to make it in either. Many of them had to stay an extra night at the academy on Thursday and leave on Friday once the roads were open. We were thankful that Justin's family was able to make it in on Wednesday so they made it to his graduation. I was not able to get a lot of pictures of Justin's graduation due to having to chase around our daughter, but here is one of them! I think Justin's dad and mom got some better ones. Maybe they will send me some and I will get them posted at a later date. Congraulations Justin! We are so proud of you!!!!

New Kitchen Color

For those of you who have been to my house you know that my kitchen was once a bright red. Not a pale red, or pastel or light.....BRIGHT RED! Like tomato red. Although we tolerated it for over 2 years we decided this weekend that it was time to get it painted. We didn't really mind the red, but it was lets just say *WOW*! We chose a light green for the kitchen, it turned out a little more olive green but still we love it! It is much calmer and more soothing than the bright red. Let us know what you think of the new color!

Fun Day At The Park

It was beautiful this past weekend so mom and I took Jyllian to the park. She had a ball playing with all of the playground equipment. She especially liked the slides. We have a small swingset in our backyard which has swings on it, so she was not too interested in playing on the swings. Instead she was much more interested with the things she had not ever played on before. Below are some pictures of her having a great time!

Birthday Party

This weekend Jyllian was invited to a birthday party at the Gymnastics's Center. The little boy is the son of some of our friends. Jyllian had an absolute ball at the party. The first 5 or so minutes she just clung to my leg and wouldn't let go, but after a bit she was running all over the place. The center was a great place for parties because they have all the equipment to use. Before we knew it Jyllian was jumping into a pool of foam blocks and jumping on the trampoline. We were literally chasing her all over the place. Needless to say we were exhausted when the party was over. We're thinking of maybe having her birthday there--although it depends on numbers, so we'll let you know what we decide. It was a fun afternoon. I think we might have a gymnast on our hands :)

Too Cute!

This past weekend was absolutely beautiful outside so we couldn't help but take our littlest girl outside to play. She really enjoyed it being so nice out. She is not a huge fan of the snow and cold. If its too cold out side she says "Brrrrrrrr." And if she gets snow on her shoes she pitches a fit and says "Snow, ick!" So needless to say she was quite pleased when it was so warm over the weekend. Below are some pictures I took of her outside that are too cute not to share :) Hope you have a wonderful President's Day Weekend. Three day weekend for us! Yea :)

Snow baby

It snowed yesterday and Justin was outside plowing the driveway. Jyllian wanted to be outside too, so I told her she needed to get on her snowpants to go outside. She marched right into her room and got her snowsuit and boots and came in the kitchen. She looked at me and said "Outside?" So we put on her snowsuit and outside we went.

It was very cold outside but she didn't seem to care. She just stood there and watched her dad get the plow reading and plow the driveways around the neighborhood.

Before long we were sledding and having a grand ol' time. We were outside for well over an hour and she loved every minute of it. We walked, we played, and we sledded.

Jyllian can now say "outside, snow, cold, brrrrrr, snowman, and ice." If she is ready to go outside she will go and get her jacket and then put it on and stand next to the door and say "Outside, momma outside." She'll either continue this until we give in and take her outside, or she gets bored standing there and finds something else to do.

New Hat

We are planning on heading to Thermopolis in the next couple of weeks and so we needed to get Jyllian a new swimsuit as her old one was getting a little too small. A 6 month swimsuit for a 19th month old--I'd say a little small. So we went to the mall this weekend and got her a new one. When we got home she of course wanted to put it on...
So after she put it on, she wanted to wear her hat that goes with it. The hat is pretty neat as it will cover up her ears in the summertime so they don't get burnt. She is not a huge fan of hats so we were quite surprised when she wanted to wear it. After we got on her swimsuit and hat she then decided that she needed her jacket to go outside in order to go swimming. Little did she know that we would not actually go swimming today, but she still looked pretty cute!

So then we took this cute picture of Justin and Jyllian with their hats on! We were just delighted that she even wanted to wear one. Fun! Fun!!

Is it a dog or a small horse?

Okay so most of you know that our dog Zeb is a little big--but he is the biggest love you'll ever meet. He absolutely adores Jyllian and she adores him too. Often times we find Jyllian lying on the floor right next to Zeb. Although he doesn't always like her lying on him, he will allow her to lay next to him. We took some pretty cute pictures last night of Jyllian and Zeb that are too cute not to share. This shows just how big Zeb really is in comparison to our little Jyllie Bean!
