Birthday Party

This weekend Jyllian was invited to a birthday party at the Gymnastics's Center. The little boy is the son of some of our friends. Jyllian had an absolute ball at the party. The first 5 or so minutes she just clung to my leg and wouldn't let go, but after a bit she was running all over the place. The center was a great place for parties because they have all the equipment to use. Before we knew it Jyllian was jumping into a pool of foam blocks and jumping on the trampoline. We were literally chasing her all over the place. Needless to say we were exhausted when the party was over. We're thinking of maybe having her birthday there--although it depends on numbers, so we'll let you know what we decide. It was a fun afternoon. I think we might have a gymnast on our hands :)

Too Cute!

This past weekend was absolutely beautiful outside so we couldn't help but take our littlest girl outside to play. She really enjoyed it being so nice out. She is not a huge fan of the snow and cold. If its too cold out side she says "Brrrrrrrr." And if she gets snow on her shoes she pitches a fit and says "Snow, ick!" So needless to say she was quite pleased when it was so warm over the weekend. Below are some pictures I took of her outside that are too cute not to share :) Hope you have a wonderful President's Day Weekend. Three day weekend for us! Yea :)

Snow baby

It snowed yesterday and Justin was outside plowing the driveway. Jyllian wanted to be outside too, so I told her she needed to get on her snowpants to go outside. She marched right into her room and got her snowsuit and boots and came in the kitchen. She looked at me and said "Outside?" So we put on her snowsuit and outside we went.

It was very cold outside but she didn't seem to care. She just stood there and watched her dad get the plow reading and plow the driveways around the neighborhood.

Before long we were sledding and having a grand ol' time. We were outside for well over an hour and she loved every minute of it. We walked, we played, and we sledded.

Jyllian can now say "outside, snow, cold, brrrrrr, snowman, and ice." If she is ready to go outside she will go and get her jacket and then put it on and stand next to the door and say "Outside, momma outside." She'll either continue this until we give in and take her outside, or she gets bored standing there and finds something else to do.

New Hat

We are planning on heading to Thermopolis in the next couple of weeks and so we needed to get Jyllian a new swimsuit as her old one was getting a little too small. A 6 month swimsuit for a 19th month old--I'd say a little small. So we went to the mall this weekend and got her a new one. When we got home she of course wanted to put it on...
So after she put it on, she wanted to wear her hat that goes with it. The hat is pretty neat as it will cover up her ears in the summertime so they don't get burnt. She is not a huge fan of hats so we were quite surprised when she wanted to wear it. After we got on her swimsuit and hat she then decided that she needed her jacket to go outside in order to go swimming. Little did she know that we would not actually go swimming today, but she still looked pretty cute!

So then we took this cute picture of Justin and Jyllian with their hats on! We were just delighted that she even wanted to wear one. Fun! Fun!!

Is it a dog or a small horse?

Okay so most of you know that our dog Zeb is a little big--but he is the biggest love you'll ever meet. He absolutely adores Jyllian and she adores him too. Often times we find Jyllian lying on the floor right next to Zeb. Although he doesn't always like her lying on him, he will allow her to lay next to him. We took some pretty cute pictures last night of Jyllian and Zeb that are too cute not to share. This shows just how big Zeb really is in comparison to our little Jyllie Bean!

Sledding

I think Jyllian is enjoying herself, don't you??? We bought Jyllian a sled back in November but haven't had the snow yet for her to ride in it. Our first snowfall we took her out and she did not like it at all. So we tried it again after Christmas and she loved it!

We plan to take her to a sledding hill at the city park the next time it snows. Right now the only challenge is to get her to wear her snowpants, boots, gloves and her hat. She still refuses to wear those.

Merry Christmas

Jyllian loved Christmas this year! She really got into it and we can just imagine what next year will be like. This year she figured out Santa Claus. It was the cutest thing, we would ask her where Santa was and she would run to the window, look out and say "all gone!" She loved opening presents and enjoyed playing with her new toys. If she got clothes she would take them out and hold them up to her and say "wow!" or "Ooooooooh!"
We spent the holidays both with Justin's family and Kylea's family. We left for South Dakota on Thursday Dec. 21st to see Ann in Rapid City. We spent the night there and were able to see Ann and Vikki; Justin's Aunt Linda and Uncle Larry; Brad, Karyn and Kellan. It was great to see people and spend time with them. On Friday morning we headed to Ann's for breakfast and our Christmas with her. Jyllian enjoyed opening presents and seeing their dogs.

Friday afternoon we headed to Moorcroft Wyoming to spend some time with Justin's Dad and Linda. We first stopped by the mall in Rapid to do some last minute shopping and we stopped in Sundance to visit Adrianne. To our surprise Joe was home so we were able to see him too. We stayed for a few hours before heading to the ranch.
We had our Christmas at the Ranch with everyone on Saturday. We woke up Saturday morning and opened presents. Again Jyllian LOVED this. All you'd have to say is lets open a present and she'd run to the tree grab a present and start opening it. She didn't care who's it was as long as she had one. She even helped those who seemed to be having troubles opening theirs.
Sunday we headed back to Douglas to spend the remainder of the holidays at home. Christmas eve was spent at Shanes new house. We had Prime Rib Dinner and opened gifts. Although this was the first Christmas without my dad we were still able to enjoy it and have a wonderful Christmas. After spending time at Shanes, we headed to mom's and opened gifts there. We kept thinking that Jyllian would get bored of opening gifts but she didn't seem to mind. Last stop home to prepare for Santa.
Santa came early on Christmas morning and treated us all wonderfully. When we woke up I went in to wake Jyllian and whispered in her ear, "Santa came." She was up in seconds and ran to the tree. We had to wait for Grammie and Uncle Shane to get their first but then we opened gifts. We all spent the day together, sledding, playing games, eating and enjoying being together. We had a wonderful dinner followed by dessert. At 7:30 we took Jyllian to her first movie at a Movie Theatre. Santa Claus 3 was playing at our local theatre so off we headed. It wasn't the greatest experience as Jyllian sat in the chair for maybe the first 10 mins of the movie and then she wasn't having any more of that. She was wanting to walk around and talk and laugh. So we spent a lot of the movie taking turns with her walking around or standing at the back watching it. All in all it was a success and we enjoyed the movie.
Before we knew it Christmas was over for yet another year...next year we can only imagine what Jyllian will be like at Christmas time.

Hanging out with Kellan

For Thanksgiving this year we were blessed to spend it with both Kylea's family and Justin's family. Brad, Karyn, Kellan; Ed and Linda all came from Justin's family and then Diane, Shane and Diane's Dad (grampa) were there too. Jyllian and Kellan got to play together which was so cute to watch. At first Jyllian was very sweet to Kellan and let him play with all of her toys. She would gladly share anything with him. But towards the end of the first night she had had enough of being nice and began to take the toys back from him. Still it was cute. Kellan would just look at her like who do you think you are missie!

On Thanksgiving Day we went to Shane's new house to eat Thanksgiving dinner. It was yummy and a very nice day spent with family. We hope to be able to do this more often as it was so nice to have both families together. Here are some cute pictures taken through the weekend.
