Cohl's 4 month check-up

So we finally got Cohl in for his 4 month check-up even though he was almost 20 weeks old. Ahhh! Gotta love Dr.'s offices and them "fitting" you in. All in all his appointment went great. We had him weighed a week and half prior to his appointment as we needed an updated weight for his antiobiotic and at his 4 month check he actually had lost weight--almost a pound of weight so we are unsure whats going on there. He weighed 13lbs which at first I was concerned about thinking that was really big, but when she gave me the percentile he is only in the 9th percentile so I guess he is good. He was also 24 inches tall and is in the 25% for his height. She was very impressed with his development and thinks he is very advanced for his age. He wow'd her with his ability to roll over, hold his head up great, and his strength with being able to stand up and starting to scoot. She said he will be an early achiever. We're just so proud of our little guy :) His acid reflux seems to be getting better and so we've taken him off the meds to see if it has gone away or not. Like she said the meds were just a cosmetic fix---he doesn't HAVE to be on them. Since taking him off he has done okay. He is getting better at eating solids. He is NOT a fan of veggies--but neither are we (Justin, Jyllian or myself.) So we're getting there on that. The Dr. said that as he eats more solids the acid reflux will go away and most go away by 1 year of age anyways. So he did well. He hasn't been sleeping the best lately--he has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks old and has been waking up a lot lately--we think he is getting some teeth as he is just a little fussy. We gave him the good ol' teething tablets (which are a Godsend if you have little ones by the way) and that has helped quite a bit these past few nights. Keeping our fingers crossed that he will sleep better for now on. Its amazing how quickly you forget the sleepless nights--or the nights of waking up every few hours! Ohhhh life an infant. Gotta love it. So we have two wonderful and adorable kiddo's! Yes we are biased :) Hope you are doing wonderful!!! Check back soon for new pictures. ( I left my camera at school and will try to get some new pics on here soon!)

Preschool

So our little girl has started pre-school. Can we say sad! Oh my gosh it just broke my heart to bring her there today. She was sooo excited about it. She has been so sad the past two weeks that I am back to school and the kids from her daycare are at school but she is still not. So it was good that she started today. I got some cute pictures of her both today and the other day when we had Open House. When I got home tonight I asked her about school and what she did--she wouldn't tell me. She later told my mom everything she did and when I asked her if her teacher told her not to tell mommy and daddy she said yes. I am assumming that they made something special for us and Miss Kendra said to not tell mommy and daddy about it and so she took it literally that she couldn't tell us ANYTHING about school. Pretty cute. Cohl had an awesome day at daycare with it just being him there. With Jyllian being at preschool and the other little boy~Luke who is Jyllian's "prince"~ also gone to preschool with Jyllian, Cohl gets Andie all to himself. We are so lucky to have someone who loves our kids so much taking care of them. Andie is awesome! So I hope you enjoy the pics of Jyllian...

Prayer Request

Hello, I have a simple request if you wouldn't mind. My best friend from highschool was pregnant with twins due November 23rd, so delivered her babies (Aidan and Addison) on Friday August 29th after having pre-term labor. Although small they are both doing pretty well with the exception of a few problems lately-Aidan was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his intestines and Addison with a pretty large heart murmur. I am just asking you to keep them in their prayers. It has been amazing how God has worked in their little lives already and we all know that He does work miracles and these little ones can sure use His help. If you want to read about them you can visit Jason's web-blog at: http://www.jasongore.blogspot.com
Thank You!

Video of Cohl

Here is a video of our little Cohl giggling. We are just loving how smiley and happy he is. We are so amazed at how much he laughs. We do not remember Jyllian ever laughing so hard this early in her life. Sometimes he will just start laughing for no reason--he is literally cracking himself up. It is sooo funny. So last night he was giggling and so I took a video of it. Hope you enjoy! :)

Back to School :(

So last week was my offical first week of school. Kids came on Monday--the week before I had to work, but no kids. I wasn't as nervous this year as I have been in the past. We had a great first week. I really enjoyed Kindergarten--ALTHOUGH--I was exhausted and it does come with its own set of challenges. Such as....they can't write, or read, most don't know their letters, most don't even know the letters in their name, some can't write their names, some can't draw pictures....most just want to play all day and they are all TIRED by lunch time--but we do all day Kindergarten. Still even with all of those challenges we made it through the week, and we had a great time :) I have 16 kids--we have 9 Kindergarten classrooms--I know a lot for such a small town. Each class has between 16 and 19 kids. A lot of little ones running around. But they have been sooo awesome. We are so impressed with how well they have adjusted to school its been amazing. So I am attaching a picture of my kids! I just hope the weeks continue to go well.
It was sooo hard leaving my own kids to go back to work. I figured it out and I had been off for 5 months--wow almost half a year off from work spending every day with my little ones. Its no wonder they had such a hard time with me leaving them as well as me having a hard time leaving them. I cried so hard that first day, but it did get easier. For Jyllian reality sunk in this week when she realized that everyone was going to school but her--even the babysitters own kids started school this year. So she is anxiously waiting for Pre-School to start for her on September 11th. Poor little girl. Cohl has done awesome at daycare. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful daycare provider. She really loves babies and so Cohl is just spoiled rotten over there :)
So all in all everything is great--but I do have to say I have enjoyed my LONG weekend :)

4 Months

So Cohl is officially 4 months old!!! I know I say this alot but really where has the time gone....makes me sad at how fast time goes by when they are this small. He is doing soooo awesome. He is growing so big--and is just the happiest little guy around. Everyone gets a kick out of him and how happy he is and love his little laugh. He seriously giggles! Its sooo cute. He can roll both ways now--even though he prefers to be on his back--not a huge fan of being on his belly--and really tries to sit up. We don't think it will be long before he will sit on his own. He loves to pull himself up to a stand when holding onto our hands. He is SO Strong! Its amazing. So he is good. We take him for his 4 month check next week so he will actually be 19 weeks but technically didn't turn 4 months until August 30th...I know confusing. So we will see what his stats are.
Here are some pictures of him eating cereal for the first time--as you can see he was not a huge fan of it--much prefered his bottle; also him laying on the floor; and him playing in his Jump-a-roo~he really enjoyed this. We also bought him one of the bumbo seats--and he likes that too.
I am also putting some pictures of Jyllian in her Hannah Montana dress up clothes. She is obsessed with Hannah Montana--we just can't believe how much she loves that girl :) Pretty funny watching her dance and sing to the songs.
What is this??
Ummm not sure I like this
Really mom I am not real fond of this

Now this is what I am talking about!

State Fair

So as most of you know the Wyoming State Fair takes place in Douglas every year. Its always a busy time--lots of people and always gives us something fun to do--and always makes me realize that school is literally just around the corner as we start the following week. This year we knew that Jyllian would have a blast at the carnival and so we were able to take her twice. We did head out of town for a couple of days during the fair so we weren't around for all of it, but we got our share. Here are just a few pictures of Jyllian enjoying the rides--note that Shane and Justin are in many of them! Jyllian got them to ride along with her :) Fun Fun times. She is such a dair-devil. She rode the Pirate Ship and wanted to ride some of the "big kid" rides that go upside down and really fast! She is too funny! And even Cohl enjoyed all the lights and noise of the fair.

Our New House and an Update

So we are finally in our new house! I absolutly love it. It is so nice to have a house that is brand new so we don't have to worry about the people who have lived in it prior or things not working correctly. We had a few delays in getting into it as soon as we would have liked to have, but are so thankful that we are in it now. We are still unpacking--boy does it take forever especially with two little ones around, but it is getting there slowly. It is still my hope to get it all finished prior to starting back to school which will be in a few weeks. Ahhhh a few weeks-that sounds awful. I am not sure that I am ready to go back to work just yet even though I have been off work since the first week in April....maybe that is making it harder?!?!!? Or mabe I am just not looking forward to taking my kids back to daycare. Cohl will be 4 months old in a few weeks. Can you believe it has been 4 months since he was born. I still can't believe it. I hate how fast they grow when they are this little. He is getting so big. We have had a few problems with his health. At 2 months he was throwing up all the time and I didn't feel he was gaining a lot of weight. We took him in and after several tests that ruled out other problems the Dr. said he has Acid Reflux, this was on a Friday. Monday afternoon the nurse called and said the urine culture grew bacteria indicating a urinary tract infection so he was put on medication for that too in additon to the acid reflux medication. We scheduled him for a VCUG which would determine if he had VUR which is a urinary reflux like Jyllian had. We got the results back from that and he does indeed have VUR like Jyllian did. We are thankful that we found out about it sooner so we can be on top of it and he will not have to get so sick like our poor Jyllie Bean did. VUR causes urinary tract infections and if left untreated will cause a Kidney Infection which can cause a lot of damage to the kidneys and cause them to be very sick and even death. Jyllian did get a Kidney Infection which is how we found out she had the VUR in the first place. Luckily she did not have any damage and has since outgrown the VUR. We are hopeful that Coh will too. So for now he is on antiobiotics daily. We go to the Urologist on the 22nd of August. We will see what he says.
Jyllian will be starting preschool in September. It makes me sad to think she is already old enough to be going to preschool. She is super excited about it. She asks daily when does she get to go. She got to meet her preschool teacher last week. I think she will enjoy going. She will go 2 days a week in the morning. I will be able to take her and pick her up if needed as my schedule happened to work around that. I am thankful for that. Both her and Cohl will be going to the same daycare that Jyllian went to this Spring. Andrea is very excited to have a baby! So we are thankful for that.
Justin took some time off to move us into our new house. It was so nice to have him home for 12 days! It was hard for him to go back to work this week. Next week on his days off we are going go down to Cheyenne and do some shopping for the kids and myself in Cheyenne and Fort Collins. Should be a nice get-a-way.
So I think that is a good enough update for now. I hope you enjoy the new pictures of the house!
I'll try and keep posting updates regularly! Time just seems to fly by. Hope you are all doing GREAT!
