Cohl's 4 month check-up

So we finally got Cohl in for his 4 month check-up even though he was almost 20 weeks old. Ahhh! Gotta love Dr.'s offices and them "fitting" you in. All in all his appointment went great. We had him weighed a week and half prior to his appointment as we needed an updated weight for his antiobiotic and at his 4 month check he actually had lost weight--almost a pound of weight so we are unsure whats going on there. He weighed 13lbs which at first I was concerned about thinking that was really big, but when she gave me the percentile he is only in the 9th percentile so I guess he is good. He was also 24 inches tall and is in the 25% for his height. She was very impressed with his development and thinks he is very advanced for his age. He wow'd her with his ability to roll over, hold his head up great, and his strength with being able to stand up and starting to scoot. She said he will be an early achiever. We're just so proud of our little guy :) His acid reflux seems to be getting better and so we've taken him off the meds to see if it has gone away or not. Like she said the meds were just a cosmetic fix---he doesn't HAVE to be on them. Since taking him off he has done okay. He is getting better at eating solids. He is NOT a fan of veggies--but neither are we (Justin, Jyllian or myself.) So we're getting there on that. The Dr. said that as he eats more solids the acid reflux will go away and most go away by 1 year of age anyways. So he did well. He hasn't been sleeping the best lately--he has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks old and has been waking up a lot lately--we think he is getting some teeth as he is just a little fussy. We gave him the good ol' teething tablets (which are a Godsend if you have little ones by the way) and that has helped quite a bit these past few nights. Keeping our fingers crossed that he will sleep better for now on. Its amazing how quickly you forget the sleepless nights--or the nights of waking up every few hours! Ohhhh life an infant. Gotta love it. So we have two wonderful and adorable kiddo's! Yes we are biased :) Hope you are doing wonderful!!! Check back soon for new pictures. ( I left my camera at school and will try to get some new pics on here soon!)

Preschool

So our little girl has started pre-school. Can we say sad! Oh my gosh it just broke my heart to bring her there today. She was sooo excited about it. She has been so sad the past two weeks that I am back to school and the kids from her daycare are at school but she is still not. So it was good that she started today. I got some cute pictures of her both today and the other day when we had Open House. When I got home tonight I asked her about school and what she did--she wouldn't tell me. She later told my mom everything she did and when I asked her if her teacher told her not to tell mommy and daddy she said yes. I am assumming that they made something special for us and Miss Kendra said to not tell mommy and daddy about it and so she took it literally that she couldn't tell us ANYTHING about school. Pretty cute. Cohl had an awesome day at daycare with it just being him there. With Jyllian being at preschool and the other little boy~Luke who is Jyllian's "prince"~ also gone to preschool with Jyllian, Cohl gets Andie all to himself. We are so lucky to have someone who loves our kids so much taking care of them. Andie is awesome! So I hope you enjoy the pics of Jyllian...

Prayer Request

Hello, I have a simple request if you wouldn't mind. My best friend from highschool was pregnant with twins due November 23rd, so delivered her babies (Aidan and Addison) on Friday August 29th after having pre-term labor. Although small they are both doing pretty well with the exception of a few problems lately-Aidan was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in his intestines and Addison with a pretty large heart murmur. I am just asking you to keep them in their prayers. It has been amazing how God has worked in their little lives already and we all know that He does work miracles and these little ones can sure use His help. If you want to read about them you can visit Jason's web-blog at: http://www.jasongore.blogspot.com
Thank You!

Video of Cohl

Here is a video of our little Cohl giggling. We are just loving how smiley and happy he is. We are so amazed at how much he laughs. We do not remember Jyllian ever laughing so hard this early in her life. Sometimes he will just start laughing for no reason--he is literally cracking himself up. It is sooo funny. So last night he was giggling and so I took a video of it. Hope you enjoy! :)

Back to School :(

So last week was my offical first week of school. Kids came on Monday--the week before I had to work, but no kids. I wasn't as nervous this year as I have been in the past. We had a great first week. I really enjoyed Kindergarten--ALTHOUGH--I was exhausted and it does come with its own set of challenges. Such as....they can't write, or read, most don't know their letters, most don't even know the letters in their name, some can't write their names, some can't draw pictures....most just want to play all day and they are all TIRED by lunch time--but we do all day Kindergarten. Still even with all of those challenges we made it through the week, and we had a great time :) I have 16 kids--we have 9 Kindergarten classrooms--I know a lot for such a small town. Each class has between 16 and 19 kids. A lot of little ones running around. But they have been sooo awesome. We are so impressed with how well they have adjusted to school its been amazing. So I am attaching a picture of my kids! I just hope the weeks continue to go well.
It was sooo hard leaving my own kids to go back to work. I figured it out and I had been off for 5 months--wow almost half a year off from work spending every day with my little ones. Its no wonder they had such a hard time with me leaving them as well as me having a hard time leaving them. I cried so hard that first day, but it did get easier. For Jyllian reality sunk in this week when she realized that everyone was going to school but her--even the babysitters own kids started school this year. So she is anxiously waiting for Pre-School to start for her on September 11th. Poor little girl. Cohl has done awesome at daycare. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful daycare provider. She really loves babies and so Cohl is just spoiled rotten over there :)
So all in all everything is great--but I do have to say I have enjoyed my LONG weekend :)
